The Dallas Morning News was on hand Thursday to photograph, interview, and video about 50 Lake Highlands seniors walking to the Audelia Library to cast their very first votes. Not all in the senior class have yet turned 18, and even fewer have registered to become eligible for the privilege, but it was still a good-sized group that trekked to the polls. "I'm proud of these students for wanting to make a difference," said assistant principal Ramona Powers, who accompanied them to the polls. "They are learning an important lesson about citizenship and responsibility."
Carol, you beat me to it! KERA ran a cute piece about them this morning. Check it out here: http://publicbroadcasting.net/kera/news.newsmain?action=article&ARTICLE_ID=1403131§ionID=1
