Far North Dallas Advocate editor Marlena Chavira-Medford posted last week about Baton Rouge-based Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers and their plans to move the brunt of their operation to Dallas. Seeing as how the company intends to open as many as 40 Dallas-area locations over the next three years, perhaps we will see one in Lake Highlands Town Center. If you think a fried chicken-finger joint is not exactly what we had in mind, you might think again — everyone I know who's eaten there says it's finger lickin' go-od.
sadly, this and a few liquor stores is what we can expect (or are we dry at that intersection). All the talk about a high end grocery store and upper scale shops and restaurants were just that...talk.

I couldn't be less excited. This is the last place we need. Well, except for another wally world.

I drove all the way to Bubba's on Sunday and look forward to chicken fingers closer to home in the future.
University Park is not 'too good' for a fried chicken joint, neither is Lake Highlands.

Except Bubba's is closing, or so I've heard.

I'm an LSU student (and a Lake Highlands grad!) Raising Cane's was started in Baton Rouge and it is the BEST chicken fingers I have ever had. Plus the Cane's sauce... you can't go wrong! It is a fast food joint, but it's real food, unlike McDonald's or Wendy's. Every time I'm home in Dallas, I drive to the location at Coit and Campbell to feed my Cane's cravings. I would love to see a location closer to home and I know my family and friends would too - I've gotten them hooked! Go try it and tell me it's not the best!

Please, can we call them chicken TENDERS and not 'fingers'?

"Please, can we call them chicken TENDERS and not 'fingers'?"
Well considering the restaurants name is Raising Cane's Chicken FINGERS, I'm sure they'd prefer you use that.
